Checklist (instructions to complete the sign permit application and requirements for submission)
A Letter of Authorization is required to be signed by the property owner if it is not the owner applying for the permit. This applies for both permanent and temporary signs.
Please note that if the sign will be located in the Downtown Sign Permit Area (DSPA) you will need approval from the Downtown Orillia Management Board (DOMB). See the map below outlining the DSPA.
If approval is required, please contact the DOMB at 705-325-3261.
Please note that if the sign will be located within 400m of a provincial highway (Highway 11 or Highway 12) you may need approval from the MTO. See the map below outlining the MTO area.
If approval is required, you will need to contact the MTO Corridor Management Officer through the Government of Ontario Website.
